The $1, $2, and $5 stamps were only printed on Flat Plate presses. The 1-1/2c full-face Harding, 2c Washington Type II, and 4c Taft were only printed on Rotary Press. All other stamps can be differentiated by measuring perforations (Flat Plate is perf 11 and Rotary Press is perf 10.5 on the long side), but plate numbers make measurements unnecessary. Plate numbers can also be used to differentiate Flat Plate from Rotary Press for the 1-1/2c imperforates and the booklet panes. I can’t tell if the 2c Rotary Press booklet pane is plate #19845 or 19849, but it doesn’t matter. The position of the plate number alone identifies it as a Rotary Press booklet pane.
