1789 was sub-contracted to American Bank Note Company and J. W. Fergusson and Sons.

The stamps were supposed to be perforated 11 x 12, but many were perforated 11 (1789A) and a few were perforated 12 (1789B), plus there is extensive printer's waste with imperfs, gutters, missing colors, etc.

1789A is included as a common perf variety in keeping with the trend of collecting perf and press variations for commemoratives until the end of the 20th century.

1789B is omitted from this collection.

Although I tried to include all major catalog numbers for Commemoratives (even though several of those commemoratives are redundant according to my collection philosophy), this is one that is so obscure that it isn't even worth considering.

Omitting 1789B is still consistent with my collecting philosophy.
